Temporary Residency

The most detailed and up-to-date information comes from Paraguay's National Directorate of Migration (Dirección Nacional de Migraciones), governed by Law N° 6984/2022.

The general requirements for applying for Temporary Residency in Paraguay typically include:

• Identity Document from the country of origin, valid (Original + one authenticated copy). This can be the national identity document or a valid passport.

• Consular Visa and its verification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cases required according to your nationality.

• Proof of Entry into the country (Granted at the Migratory Control Post).

• Certificate of Marital Status issued by the competent authority in the country of origin, legalized and apostilled/certified, if applicable (includes Marriage Certificate if married, etc.).

• Criminal, Judicial, or Police Background Certificate (for applicants over 14 years old), issued by INTERPOL and/or the country of origin, duly certified/apostilled.

• Documents proving Economic Solvency.

• Certificate of Life and Residence (Certificado de Vida y Residencia) issued by a competent police or judicial authority in Paraguay (this is obtained once in the country).

• PAYMENT OF THE CORRESPONDING FEE. Currently 2,787,550 Gs. If you are from Mercosur, the fee is 2,230,040 Gs. These prices are those of the Paraguayan administration, not ours. Obtaining residency is an investment, not an expense.

Important Note:

• For foreigners from countries subscribed to the MERCOSUR Residency Agreement, specific procedures or requirements may apply.

• Documentation issued abroad must generally be legalized or apostilled. This is very important.

Permanent residency

Permanent residency can be obtained after two years of temporary residency, or from the start by making an investment of 70,000 USD to establish a company through the SAUCE system.

Our company will assist with all procedures and management to ensure these are carried out easily, without setbacks or unnecessary travel, and without loss of time due to lack of knowledge of the steps and required documentation.

We speak English for the greater ease of applicants, having spent 7 years in London.

Our services include the opening of bank accounts and the procurement of responsible accountants and tax advisors to keep everything up to date, whether you contract the permanent residency option through the SAUCE system or through the intermediate step of temporary residency, without the 70,000 USD investment.
